All I can say is visiting this Elephant Sanctuary was like nothing I’ve ever experienced.

Before coming to Thailand I knew I wanted to see the elephants but was so worried because I knew of how many places claimed to be ‘sanctuarys’ but were really unethical.

I had planned for me and James to go the elephant nature park in Chiang mai but unfortunately due to the floods last month they are closed for the rest of the year.

After more research I found Chang chill, here the focus is for the elephants to be in their natural and stress free habitat. There is no riding / bathing or feeding and you are solely there to observe. We had to hike to find them in the wild and we got to see them cool off in the river in the afternoon.

Seeing them in their natural habitat so up close and personal really was something I’ll never forget. Knowing that they rescued and are being taken care is a really good feeling.

They say an elephant never forgets, but I doubt me and James will ever forget this day.

I could’ve cried. Wow. What a day🤍
