We ended up getting a Thai sim in Bangkok airport. As soon as we came out of security, there were loads of different stools that offer sim cars, we went for the AIS brand. As we are out for 3 months, we went for the 30 days package which included everything for £25 - this meant our phone worked as normal. You can then top up your package once this runs out.
They take your UK sim out and put it in the back of your phone, and insert your Thai sim and they sort everything for you!
You can do this at 7/11 for cheaper, but they can be so busy and don’t always set it up for you. I just wanted to make sure this was all sorted before leaving the airport and for the sake of £10 it was the best thing we done!!
